antidot
Antidoti su sredstva koja odstranjuju, neutraliziraju i inaktiviraju otrove ili pak suzbijaju simptome otrovanja protivnim djelovanjem. Razlikuju se fizički (ispiranje želuca, emetici, adsorbencije – poput medicinskog ugljena), kemijski (kiseline se neutraliziraju blagim lužnatim sredstvima, lužine razrijeđenim kiselinama, metilensko modrilo se koristi pri otrovanju ugljičnim monoksidom te kod otrova koji stvaraju methemoglobin) i farmakološki antidoti (BAL, EDTA, penacilamin kod otrovanja teškim metalima, desferioksamin pri otrovanjima solima željeza, aluminijevi silikati kod otrovanja herbicidima).
