Свети Патрик

Saint Patrick's Day is an annual Irish holiday celebrating the culture of Ireland in general on the 17th of March. It is named after Saint Patrick (C. AD 387–461), the most commonly recognized saint of Ireland. It is originally a religious holiday observed by the Roman Catholic Church, the Anglican Communion (especially the Church of Ireland), the Eastern Orthodox Church and Lutherans. The celebration is generally characterized with street parades, the attendance of church services, wearing of green costumes, and the lifting of Lenten restrictions on fasting and drinking, which is often proscribed during the rest of the season.
