габриел

У аврамовском религијама, Габриел је анђео који обично служи као курир послат од Бога да неким људима. У Библији, Габријел се помиње иу Старом иу Новом завету. У Старом завету, изгледало је да пророка Данила, испоруку објашњења за Даниел визије (Даниел 8: 15-26, 9: 21-27). У Јеванђељу по Луки, Гаврило се појавио на Зецхариас, и Богородици гледање у рађања Јована Крститеља и Исуса, односно (Лука 1: 11-38). У Књизи пророка Данила, он се назива "човек Габриел", док је у Јеванђељу по Луки, Габријел се назива "анђео Господњи" (Лука 1:11). Габријел се не зове арханђела у Библији, али се тзв на Интертестаментал изворима периоду као што су књиге Еноха.
