Un tipo de software que transmite información personal a terceros sin el concentimiento del usuario. Spyware busca explotar los ordenadores infectados con fines comerciales. Se puede entregar no solicitados anuncios pop-up, robar información personal (incluyendo información financiera como números de tarjetas de crédito), monitor de la actividad de navegación en la web con fines de comercialización, y enrutar las solicitudes HTTP a los sitios de publicidad.
