Ideally, a form of reasoning in which one moves from one or more premises to a conclusion in such a way that while the conclusion seems to have been given some justification, it is logically possible for the premises to be true and the conclusion false. E. G. “Most of the philosophy majors have seen Rocks in the Throat, featuring Dawn Demosthenes. . . Igor Metchnikov is a philosophy major. Therefore Igor Metchnikov has seen Rocks in the Throat. ” See deduction.
